Taste the Hell of the North

Run your hand over the cobbles. Feel how they fit deep into the soil with grass, dirt and mud holding them perfectly in place. They are gloriously uneven and no two are alike, making for a riding surface that provides a challenge, demands concentration and requires a bit of luck on the second Sunday each April if a rider hopes to finish the task ahead.

Paris-Roubaix. Ask any professional cyclist which races they would most like to win, and the answer will be the Tour de France and Paris-Roubaix. Known for a rich tradition in cycling, the 25+ pavé sectors of this race lend to the tradition and monumental status of this race in cycling history, creating a difficult race where anything can happen and usually does. If it’s raining, the ancient mud in the sectors creates havoc for the bikes as they chug through the cobbles. If the skies are clear, the dust will whip up and create a fog for the riders to pick their way through – unless you are on the front where Lady Luck needs to ride along with you.

A win in Paris-Roubaix can define a career.

Saturday is your big chance to test your racing prowess against others just like you who want to experience Roubaix from the inside, as you take part in the Paris-Roubaix 2018 Challenge!

You’ll ride some of the most famous cobbled sections of the race course and finish up with a lap around the boards of the Roubaix velodrome.

After the race it’s time for recovery, including food of course, and time under the magic hands of a team soigneur at the hotel spa. An evening meal with some KATUSHA ALPECIN team members caps off your day.

Now it’s time for the real action! After a recovery ride, Sunday gives way to the pros and you’ll be right in the heart of the action, following the race from a legendary spot on the race course before relocating to see the exciting finish in the historic velodrome.

So close you'll be eating the dust!

After the race, a trip to the team bus will be a perfect chance to snap some photos and congratulate the riders on surviving another Hell of the North.
